Snowmobile stolen then recovered quickly

A snowmobile was stolen earlier this week but the thief didn’t get too far.

The Perth County OPP was called out Tuesday to a rural address on Line 60, northwest of Monkton.

The resident reported that his snowmobile was gone.

Investigation revealed that a male suspect had driven the blue Yamaha snowmobile down the road where the snowmobile appeared to have run out of fuel.

The male suspect was observed getting into a black pickup truck which left the scene.

Shortly thereafter, officers spotted the pickup truck in Monkton and located a male matching the description of the suspect.

The 21-year-old North Perth man was arrested and faces multiple charges.

The snowmobile was recovered and has been returned to the owner.
