Lewis, Wince

Winston “Wince” George Lewis, age 73, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday February 11, 2014.

Born in Stratford, son of the late George and Ivy (Foster) Lewis. Winston worked for the City of Stratford for many years. He enjoyed darts, car racing and hockey and was a longtime member of the Army, Navy and Air Force, Unit 261, Stratford.

Beloved brother-in-law of John Pflance and his family; Tammy, Lori, Mike, Justin (Aimee), Jonathan (Sarah), Jennifer (Nathan), Christopher (Lily), Tim, Andrew, Chelsey and Gillian. Dear brother of Georgina “Jo” Sutherland, Irene Merkel (Bill), Rosie Feltz (Orval) and Wanda Lewis. Also survived by sister-in-law Mary Lewis, many nieces and nephews. Father of Wendy and Robin and their families.

Predeceased by sisters Joyce Steckley (brother-in-law Harvey), Nancy Lewis, Doris Pflance, brothers Don and Bill Lewis and brother-in-law Doug Sutherland.

A private family graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice through the W. G. Young funeral home, 430 Huron St., Stratford. 519-271-7411. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
