Stumpf, Hilda

Hilda Erna Stumpf of Cedarcroft Place, 260 Church Street, Stratford passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at her residence on Sunday, February 16, 2014, in her 91st year.  Born in Raymore, Saskatchewan, she was the daughter of the late Fritz Winkler and the former Martha Merkel. She was the beloved wife of Mark Stumpf whom she married on November 6, 1944. She had been employed at the Stratford Festival Theatre as a receptionist for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Stratford. Dear Mother of Carol Chettleburgh of Tillbury, Sheila Loucks (John) of Stratford, Debbie Clark (Fred) of Kitchener and Trudy Stumpf- Gagnon (Graham) of St.Marys. Beloved Grandmother of Paul Chettleburgh (Julie), Lori McLean (Jamie), Karen Chettleburgh (Mark), Christopher Loucks (Sandy Fraser), Jeffery Loucks (Barb), Tracy Penney (Shawn) and David Loucks as well as Andrew Clark (Cheryl), Scott Clark (Melissa Patterson), Daniel Clark (Ellie Fletcher), Mark Vandenberk (Samantha), Matt Vandenberk, Rebecca Gagnon and Joshua Gagnon. She will be lovingly remembered by her many great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Hilda is predeceased by her brothers Fred, Herbert, and Charles Winkler. Relatives and friends will be received at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert St., Stratford, on Wednesday February 19, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron St, Stratford on Thursday February 20, 2014 at 2 p.m. Father David Butler will officiate. Interment will follow at Avondale Cemetery, Stratford, followed by a reception at the James A.
