Richardson, Laverne

Earl Laverne Richardson, age 82, passed away peacefully at the Maples Home For Seniors, Tavistock on April 3, 2015. He was born in Downie Township, son of the late Earl and Gertrude Richardson. Laverne farmed in Ellice Township for several years before moving to Stratford. He worked at Gaffney Construction and Cleaver Brooks until his retirement. In retirement he owned and operated Richardson Ornamental Ironworks. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Riehl) who predeceased him March 15, 2008. Loving mother of Trudy Reiger (Joe), Joe-Ann Robertson (Alex), Laverne Richardson, Rick Richardson, Cindy Heinbuch, James Richardson, Kimberly Davidson (Pete), Pamela Kittmer (Kevin) and Connie Marriott (Al). Grandfather of Bob Reiger, Tammy Reiger (Tim), Sherry Robertson, Jason Robertson (Lisa), Dan Richardson (Becky), Jennifer Richardson (Chris), Mandy McQuillan (Rob), Missy Hopkins (Joris), Mandy Bucek (Mark), Ashley Heinbuch (Nolan), Jeremy Berger (Cherise), Jeff Berger, Jessica Berger, Justin Berger (Natalie), Julie Pehlke (Jason), Jesse Pehlke, Nikki Davidson and Cherissa Kittmer. Great grandfather of Destiny, Atlas, Evaya, Shantel, Anthany, Fernando, Jackson, Cheyanne, Taylor, Colton, Emma, Kylee, Allie, Hannah and Ben. Dear brother of Ruth Coulthard, Vera Pflance and Bonnie Plummer. Also survived by a son-in-law Jim Berger, a daughter-in-law Marianne and several nieces and nephews. Beside his parents and wife he was predeceased by a son Randy, a daughter Melanie Berger, a granddaughter Tanya Richardson, a daughter-in-law Barb Marquette and brothers-in-law Ellwood Coulthard and Don Pflance. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, on Tuesday, April 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. William Kramer will officiate. Interment at Avondale Cemetery.
