Fagerstrom, Carl

Carl Leland (Lee) Fagerstrom from R. R. #2, Granton passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital, after a prolonged illness.  Lee was born on a farm near Frewsburg, N. Y. (western New York State near the Pennsylvania border) on May 22, 1927.  After a varied career in the automotive after-market, he and his wife, Irene, moved to the Stratford/ St. Marys area in 1983, where they ran a small business, servicing mostly the automotive machine shops and engine re-building shops across Canada.  He was pre-deceased by his father, Joseph and mother, Esther.  He is survived by his wife, Irene and four children, Merry Lee, Amy, Jon and Andrew, his mother-in-law, Vesta Crerar, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his brother, Wayne, as well as many other family members and friends.

There will be a memorial service for him on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Marys Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m., with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made in his memory to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital, the Gideons International – or the charity of one’s choice.
