People who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired can now text 911.
If you fall into one those categories you’ve got to register for the service with your wireless carrier.
The OPP says the service is launching today.
Once registered messaging “T911” will connect you to an operator.
Keep in mind this service is not for the general public, it’s only for DHHSI people.
