The price of parking is going up in Stratford. City council passed a phased increase at Tuesday night’s meeting.
Parking will first go up to 75 cents an hour and then jump again to a dollar an hour next April. Right now it costs 40 cents an hour to park downtown.
The decision came after a discussion on what would be an appropriate increase. City staff had originally suggested 75 cents an hour with the finance committee recommending the $1 rate.
The by-law to increase the rate will make its way to council at the June 8th meeting.
