Peck, Charlie

Charles Hooper Peck, age 91, passed away peacefully at Hillside Manor on May 30, 2015. He was born in North Easthope Township, son of the late Joseph and Bertha Peck. Beloved husband of the late Audrey (Malcho) Peck who predeceased him on April 7, 2006. Charlie is survived by sisters-in-law Jean Peck and Jane Malcho and by many nieces, nephews and their families. Besides his parents and wife Charlie was predeceased by brothers James, Albert (Violet), Harold (Shirley) and by sisters Celia Maybee (Lorne) and Bertha in infancy. Charlie served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, North Atlantic Squadron during WWII. He worked with the CNR and Cooper Besemer until his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #8 Stratford, the Odd Fellows, Stratford Kings Hunt Camp and St. James Anglican Church where he was an Elder for many years. Charlie played and coached Minor Hockey with the Stratford Indians for many years. He was an avid bowler in Industrial League Bowling at Uptown Bowling. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, June 2, from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Canon Dr. Lorne Mitchell will officiate. Interment at Avondale Cemetery.
