Hewson, Ted

Edward (Ted) Hewson, age 85, passed away peacefully with family at his side at home on Thursday, May 28, 2015. He was born in Windsor, son of the late William and Eva Hewson. Ted and Jackie moved to Stratford in 1951 and he was employed as Superintendent with the City of Stratford Board of Works Department for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the ANAF Unit 261, Stratford, Stratford Masonic Lodge #332 AF&AM and the Stratford Municipal Golf Course. Predeceased by his wife the former Jackie Morand September 13, 2000 and his daughter-in-law Gloria February 17, 2010. Beloved father of Susan Hartwig (Mike), Bill Hewson (Sheri), Bonnie Hallman (Rick), Connie Power (Todd). Loving grandfather of Gregory Hewson (Miranda), Neal Hartwig (Julie), Alicia Binkle (Trevor), Emily Mawhinney (John), Teddy Power. Big Papa to 12 great grandchildren. Also survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may call at the Griffith Auditorium, Spruce Lodge, on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 11 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. Lisa Bellsmith will officiate. Reception following. There will be a private family interment at the Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life, Stratford or the charity of one’s choice and may be made through the W. G.
