White, Claire

Claire White, age 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Cedarcroft Place on Saturday June 13, 2015. Claire was the beloved wife of Cyril White for 60 years. They farmed together in the Kinkora area for 37 years.  Claire came to Stratford in 1948 from Quebec to further her education at Loretta Academy in English and office administration. She took piano lessons from Cora B. Ahrens and obtained a degree in Piano Solo Performer and Teacher in 1952. Subsequently, she taught piano and was the organist at St. Patrick’s Church in Kinkora for 35 years.  In 1992 Claire and Cyril moved to Stratford and became members of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was also a member of the CWL for over 50 years. She enjoyed animals of all kinds (especially cats), sports and travelling with her husband Cyril. Survived by sister Marcelle Racicot in Amos, Quebec, by loving children Lucy and partner Waldo from Calgary, Paul and wife Teresa from Newmarket, and Nancy from Boston. Also, grandchildren Jaimie, Erica and Erna. Predeceased by father Rodolphe Lee and mother Fernande Lee (Beaudry).  A huge thank you to all of the staff at Cedarcroft for providing outstanding care with kindness and compassion for Claire.  Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, June 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford on Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Interment at St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery, Kinkora.
