Ruby, Dorothy

Dorothy Jean Ruby, (nee Wisby) of Stratford, passed away June 24th, 2015 at Spruce Lodge, in her 87th year following a lengthy illness. Dorothy is survived by her loving and faithful husband, George Gillespie Ruby.

Dorothy is also survived by son, Douglas, and his wife, Catherine, of New Jersey. Grandchildren include Sarah, of Philadelphia P.A., and Hilary of New Jersey. Dorothy was predeceased by a son, David George, who died in infancy. She outlived all her brothers and sister including brothers, Donald and Edward (Ted) Wisby, and sister, Anne Ranney.

Survivors also include sister in law Marjorie Wisby of Tavistock and brother in law Archie Ranney of Stratford and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a loving godmother to Pat and Ron Ranney, also of Stratford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. James Anglican Church or Spruce Lodge Foundation. Special thanks to Spruce Lodge staff and niece Jan Dean who provided years of attentive and loving care to Dorothy.

A private graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery followed by interment. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert St., Stratford. 519-271-5062. www.jarfh.com
