King, Norbert

Norbert William (Bud) King, age 92, passed away peacefully at Cedarcroft Place, Stratford on June 28, 2015.  He was born in Stratford, July 31, 1922, son of the late Norbert and Frances King. Beloved husband for 50 years of the late Betty Irene (Burford) who predeceased him November 29, 1994. Loving father of Charles King (Sharon) and Brian King (Sylvie). Grandfather of Mark King (Samantha), April Zehr (Shawn), Lorraine King (Adam Reisacher) and Lisa King. Great grandfather of Addyson and Gavyn King. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a son Alfred in infancy, by siblings Kenneth King (Lillian), Arthur King (Shirley), Irene Burford (George) and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on the Burford side of the family. Bud was a former employee of the Stratford Chair Co., Dominion Stores, Fram Canada and the Stratford Post Office from 1955 until 1988. He was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church where he sang in the choir for 56 years. He was also a member of the Stratford Masonic Lodge #332, AF & AM and the Heritage Club at the Post Office. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Cedarcroft Place for their exceptional care of Bud over the years. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, July 2, from 6-9 p.m. and on Friday at St. Pauls Anglican Church, 9 Douro Street, Stratford from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Daniel Bowyer will officiate. Interment at Avondale Cemetery.
