Family movie night taking aim at on-screen smoking

There’s going to be a free outdoor family movie night next week in Stratford.  It’s to educate parents about the health risks smoking in movies can have on children.

The Perth District Health Unit says when kids see tobacco use on-screen it increases the risk that they’ll start to smoke.  They’re advocating a rating of 18A for any movie that shows tobacco use.

The family movie night is happening on July 17th at the SERC Site starting at 7:30 p.m.  The movie, “Home”, starts at about 8:45 p.m.

You can find more information at the PDHU’s website.
