Stratford Police launch “Text with 911”

The Stratford Police have launched Text with 911.  It’s a service for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired.

The Stratford Police are working with the police in Waterloo, Guelph, and Brantford and the Canadian Hearing Society on this service.

“We are very pleased to establish TEXT with 9-1-1 service in our respective communities for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired,” says Inspector Sam Theocharis of Support Services for the Stratford Police Service. “We are very grateful to all our partners who have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition and for the ongoing support and input by the members of the Canadian Hearing Society.”

Text with 911 went live Wednesday.  You can find more information at this website.
