Broadfoot, Donald

Donald Broadfoot, age 78, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on July 27, 2015.  He was born in Stratford, December 3, 1936, son of the late Earl and Cordelia (Greve) Broadfoot. Beloved husband for 54 years of Evelyn (Calvert). Loving father of Rob (Heather), Laurie Mogk (John), Larry (Robin). Grandfather of Erin Boersen (Josh), Jessica Cade (Sam), Justine Nater (John), Allison Mogk, Gabrielle and Jonathan Broadfoot. Great grandfather of Abigail, Jack and Ainsley. Dear brother of  Rev. James (Marion), Ken (Mary), Agnes Williacy, John (Betty), Sharon Fetter (Bruce), Marlene Holden (Bill) and Glen Broadfoot. Also survived by a sister-in-law Marie Broadfoot. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jack and Renie Calvert, by brothers Howard Broadfoot and Bruce Broadfoot in infancy, by a sister-in-law Jean Broadfoot and by a brother-in-law Fred Williacy. Don was part owner of Wake’s Dairy for several years. He later owned and operated Stratford Kist Beverages Ltd from 1971 until his retirement. Don was a 57 year member of Parkview United Church, Stratford. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, July 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Parkview United Church, 470 Ontario Street, Stratford on Thursday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkview United Church Building Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association through the funeral home. 519.271.7411www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
