Klomp, Peter

Petrus “Peter” Johannes Klomp, age 87, of Stratford passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, July 31, 2015. Peter was born in Neunen, Netherlands, son of the late Karl and Anna Maria (Santegoeds) Klomp. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Peter and his late wife Dora (Berendsen) Klomp, of 42 years are survived by  his loving children; Karl and wife Diana of Stratford, John and his wife Judy of London, Marty and his wife Barbara of St. Pauls, Jeff and his wife Carolyn of St. Pauls, Anthony and wife Susan of St. Marys and Lori-anne Vanhevel of Mitchell. Proud Opa of Daniel (Kayla), Andrew (Shayna), Kristine, Stephen, Michael, Nicholas, Christopher, Jenna, Amy, Amanda (Micheal), Tascha, Kevin (Stephanie), Dean, Derek, Craig, Sabrina, Courtney and great grandson Maverick. Peter came to Canada in 1954 to farm. Peter was a 4th degree Knight of the St. Joseph’s Parish Chapter and founding member of the Benelux Club. Peter will be sadly missed by many extended family. Friends and family may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. (Knights of Columbus Stratford Kilroy Council 1431 will hold a service at 1:45 p.m.).  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.  Rev. Seejo John will officiate. Interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery.
