Diegel-Beisel, Ruth Lorene (nee Moore) – After a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by her loving family, Ruth passed peacefully on Friday August 21, 2015.  She was a beautiful woman full of life, laughter and unlimited in love and faith.  Music, her faith and her family were the foundation on which she lived her life.  She will be dearly missed by her children: Murray (Tracy) Diegel of Exeter,  Faye (Ray) Kennedy of Benmiller, Nancy (George) MacPherson of Dundas, Janet (Larry) LaBelle of Stratford, Linda Diegel of Stratford, and John (Carolyn) Beisel of Owen Sound.  Predeceased by her parents, Franklin and Florence Moore of Stratford, loving husbands Glenn B. Diegel (1980) and Stan Beisel (2005). The most wonderful Nana to Lisa (Mark), Shannon (Brendan), Shaunacy (Kevin), Ashley (Ben), Quinn, Michael, Gregory, Megan, Nakita, Peter, David and Kathryn.  Forever in G.G.’s heart are her great grandchildren Connor, Abigail, Sawyer, Reaghan, Harper and soon to arrive Ruthie and Alice.  She will be greatly missed by her dear loving nephews Brad (Wilma) Markle of Woodstock and Brian (Barb) Markle of New Hamburg , as well as many cousins and friends.  Ruth had a love and appreciation of music and the arts her entire life. She used her talents in her early years (1948-1951) while teaching grades one through eight in a one-room school house in Dublin, Ontario.  Ruth was a member of three community choirs:  The “Millian Aires” of Central United Church (Avondale United), Stratford Concert Choir and County of Perth Community Choir.   In May, she was awarded the status of lifetime member of the Stratford Concert Choir for her many years of involvement.  Ruth was an accomplished soloist who performed in many community events, weddings and musical productions.  In 2013 she won the “Chartwell Senior Star” solo competition for this region.  Ruth was a caring volunteer. She gave back to her church community through her choir work, Sunday school teaching, Messenger and United Church Women leadership.  She gave back to the larger Stratford community through her work as a past president of the Festival City Kiwins and a Telecare volunteer.  She delivered Meals On Wheels and was chairperson for the Avon area Cancer Fund.  We will miss you Mom. You’ll be in our hearts always.
Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Monday, August 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  A service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at Avondale (Central) United Church on Tuesday, August 25 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Rotary Club of Stratford Hospice Project, Avondale United Church (Music Program) or charity of one’s choice through the funeral home.  519.271.7411  www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
