Ruston, Lawrence

Lawrence Ignacious Ruston, age 81, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on August 27, 2015. Lawrence was born in Ellice Township, son of the late George and Maria Ruston. He is the loving husband of Anne Ellen (Hishon). Loving father of Marjorie Hunt (Tom), Don Ruston (Linda), Maureen Harburn (Bob), Madelaine Hunt (Jim), Richard Ruston, Daniel Ruston, Bruce Ruston (Deb), Marry Ellen Thompson (Karl Maczka) and daughters-in-laws Mary Lou and Fran Ruston. Grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  Dear brother of Alice Toffelmire (Jim). Also survived by sisters-in-law Gladys, Hilda and Merle Ruston and many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his first wife Gwendolyne Isabelle (Dunbar), by three sons Patrick, Darryl and Brad Ruston, by brothers Joe, Frank, John, Gerald, George, Leon, Jerome, Ferg and by sisters Agnes Clipperton, Loretta Vulders, Dorothy Broderick and Mary Cassidy. Lawrence finished his working career with Stock Auctions, where he and his brothers enjoyed their time together. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Mitchell and the Stratford Tai Chi Society. Friends and relatives may call at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 29 Park Lane, Mitchell on Saturday, August 29 from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the CNIB, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association through the W.G.
