Kenneth Alvin McIlroy, age 70, of Stratford, passed away at his residence of Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Born on Gowanstown, Ontario, son of the late Alvin McIlroy and the former Irene Hamilton. Beloved husband of Patricia (Flaxbard), loving father of Mark and his wife Heather and the late Paul (2010). Proud grandfather of Alanah and Nash. Ken is survived by his brothers Don, Brian (Karon) and Ivan (Karen), his Uncle Jim, brothers-in-law Klaas Hanje (friend Bev) and Brian Flaxbard (Maryann), sisters-in-law Judy Connell (Ken), Marlene Arnold (Doug), Bonnie Bissonnette (Larry) and Brenda Hartin (Larry) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Margaret and Willard Henderson and his sisters Marion Hanje and Linda McIlroy. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Sunday, September 13 from 7 – 9 p.m. and on Monday from 12 noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m., followed by a reception. Cremation will take place. A private interment in Avondale Cemetery will be held at a later date.
