Menchenton, Irene “Ella”

Irene “Ella” Menchenton, age 97, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge on Friday March 7, 2014.

Born in Indian Islands, Newfoundland, daughter of the late John and Winnifred (Sheppard) Gale. Ella lived in the Toronto area until coming to Stratford on 1992. She was a member of Central United Church, the UCW and the Friendship Group.

Loving mother of Douglas Menchenton and wife Jacquelyn of Stratford. Cherished Nana of Debbie Terhorst (Denny), Steven Menchenton (Kim) and Danny Menchenton (Jodi). Great Nana of Kaitlyn and Rebecca Terhorst, Cassie, Amanda, Kendra and Kylen Menchenton and Brandon and Justin. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Predeceased by her brothers George, Alvin and Moses Gale, sisters Bessie Gale, Florence Gale, Maude Perry and Olive Coffin.

Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Wednesday March 12th from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Kathi Urbasik-Hindley will officiate. Reception to follow. Interment will be in Pine Hills Cemetery, Scarborough.
