Huras, Raymond John

August 28, 1919 – October 26, 2015

Born in Stratford, the son of the late Irvin and Melinda (Graul) Huras, following a lengthy illness, Ray passed on to his heavenly home in his ninety seventh year at the Mitchell Nursing Home. He was the much loved husband of Hazel (Roney) Huras whom he married on Aug. 1, 1953; the devoted father of Susan (Rob) McEwen, Stratford, Nancy (Gerry) Leger, Gadshill, and Faye (Paul) Wreford, Stratford. Cherished grandfather of Justin (Lisa) Leger, Stratford, Katherine (Stewart) Ferguson, The Netherlands, Brock Wreford, Stratford, Ian McEwen, Guelph, Rachelle (Mitch) Forrest, Stratford, and Alexander Wreford, Stratford. Three little great grandchildren also survive; Austen and Brinley Forrest, and Sophia Leger. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, October 30, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service Friday at 6:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 115 Cambria Street, Stratford on Saturday at 11 a.m. Remembrances may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the Poppy Fund of the Royal Canadian Legion through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
