Bain, Anne

Anne Elizabeth Bain, age 93, passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge, Stratford on October 31, 2015. Anne was born in Stratford, March 4, 1922, daughter of the late Cecil and St. Clare Packham. Beloved wife of the late J. Allan Bain who predeceased Anne November 8, 2001. Loving mother of Claire and Don Belluz, Laurel and Bob McIntosh, Bob Bain and son-in-law Bill Allen. Grandmother of Kevin and Jodi Belluz, Scott Belluz, Dan and Courtney McIntosh, Andrea and Ulises Sanchez, Beth and Chris Rumble, Julia McIntosh, Kendra Bain and Todd Allen. Great grandmother of Lily and Findley Belluz, Tristan and Coleton McIntosh, Alma and Jolea Sanchez and Sullivan Rumble. Dear sister of Bob and Grace Packham, Mary and Don Hislop, Ruby and Doug Elder and sister-in-law Marj Packham. Anne was predeceased by her daughter Susan Allen and by a brother Jack Packham. Mom was a gentle, creative, giving person who led by example. Her love of learning was shared with her family, involving her children in many clubs and sports; her community, as a 4H Leader, Women’s Missionary Society and Avonton Presbyterian Church member; and her world, as a Bible Society volunteer. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, November 3, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Catherine Calkin will officiate. A family interment will take place at Avondale Cemetery.
