Strathdee, Wilhelmina

Wilhelmina Strathdee of Stratford, age 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6th, 2015 at the Stratford General Hospital. Born October 1, 1918 in Downie Township, youngest daughter of the late Simon Rae and the former Frances Michie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband  Ronald Strathdee on January 5, 2004, whom she married on September 14, 1943 in St. Andrews Presbyterian Manse by the late Rev. B. Walden. Also predeceased by her son Ross John Strathdee on August 19, 2005, her sister Edith (Jim) Gray and brothers Kenneth (Mary) Rae and Norman (Elizabeth) Rae. Surviving are her dear son “Ronald Rae” and his wife Kathleen of Kincardine, three grandsons, Ronald and his wife Leanne of Oakville, Trevor of Thunder Bay and Travis of Calgary, daughter-in-law Donna Strathdee of Calgary, four great grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan and Rachel of Oakville and Mason of Calgary and many nieces, nephews and their families. She was also predeceased by in-laws Bill and Alice, Lionel and Betty, Alden and Mary, Elwood and Kay, Earl and Helen and John McKay. Surviving is her best friend and sister-in-law Joyce McKay and friends Glennys, Bernice and Catherine. Wilhelmina was a long-time member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and past member of the W.M.S. A graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Dr. Hugh Jones officiating.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church,  Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society through the W.G.
