Anthony Henry (Tony) Van Klooster journeyed to Heaven on Dec. 4, 2015 surrounded by the songs and prayers of his family. Loving husband for 57 years of Anny Van Klooster. Dedicated and caring father and Opa of Willy and Deborah; Jo-Ann, Dan, Kevin (Shannon) and Ayla (John) Mittelholtz; Steve, Marian, Emily, Olivia (Travis), Alex (Abbi) and Ethan Van Klooster; Antoinette; Ed, Elaine, Brandon and Sara, Hilary and Aaron Bald, and Shelby Van Klooster; Ingrid, Pieter, Malin, Kasya and Trind Van Klooster/Hilhorst and of special son Luy, Noc and Cindy. Survived by brother Henry and Rita Klooster and brother-in-law Bert Van Dyk and their families in Canada.  Also by four brothers and a sister, five sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law and their spouses and families in The Netherlands.  Predeceased by two brothers and two sisters-in-law.  Tony was born in The Netherlands and has been a very proud Canadian since his immigration at the age of 19.  After settling onto the farm outside of St. Pauls he became very involved in the Ontario Federation of Agriculture including serving as President.  At St. Joseph’s church he served on Church Council and was a dedicated volunteer for both The Refugee Committee, often giving hands on help to recent immigrants, and the Mission committee.  He was always dedicated to the unfortunate throughout the world. He also volunteered for over 20 years with the Canadian Cancer Society.  Tony enjoyed curling, lawn bowling, bicycling, card playing, gardening and socializing in general.  He was always very interested and involved in the activities of his children and grandchildren. Tony/Dad/Opa, you were the best husband, father and Opa that we could have ever asked for. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, December 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 6:45 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Avondale Cemetery.
