Laura Henderson (Spears), age 92, passed away peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital, St. Marys on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. She was born in Cromarty, ON, daughter of the late Andrew McLellan and the former Grace Speare. Laura was employed at the A&P Grocery Store for over 20 years and later at the Cafeteria at Central Secondary School for over 20 years. She was predeceased by her husband Oliver Spears in 1983 and her second husband, Archie Henderson, in 2005. Laura is survived by her son Barry Spears (Farah), her daughter Nancy Spears, and step children Cyndi Henderson and David Henderson (Desiree). Grandmother of Karen Steeves, Kathleen Fischer (Luke), Katie Spears, Tara McKenna, Bella Spears and Adam Spears. Great grandmother of Hailey and Lucus. She is also survived by a brother Ross McLellan (Jean), a sister Ada Mae Karpie and several nieces and nephews and their families. A celebration of Laura’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 207 St. Patricks St., Stratford on Saturday, January 16 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorials donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation through the W.
