Edmund “Eddie” Schepka, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Stratford General Hospital at the age of 87. Born November 13, 1928 in Poland, son of the late Katarzyna and Wlodzimierz Schepka. Husband of the late Helena and Jadwiga Schepka. Brother of Stanislaw (Maria) Schepka of Poland. Also survived by family in Germany and Poland. Eddie came to Canada by ship in 1951 and worked on farms in Hanover. He was then employed by FAG Bearings until his retirement. Friends may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Tuesday, January 19, from 7 – 9 p.m. Parish prayers will be at 8:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 96 Huron St., Stratford, on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m, with Father Dick Bester officiating. A reception at the church will follow the interment in Avondale Cemetery.
