Smith, Julianne

SMITH, Julianne Wilhelmin (nee Brodhagen), daughter of David and Emma Brodhagen, passed away on February 8, 2016 surrounded by her family.  Julia was born and grew up in Stratford.  She was a life-time member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was confirmed and sang in the choir for many years.  Julia also sang with the Otto Henderson band, Tony Cryon’s band and the Skyliners in the 30’s and 40’s.   She had her beauty salon for many years.   Her sense of humour will be sadly missed.  She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Smith in 1974.  Also predeceased by siblings Clarence Brodhagen, Jean Garrod, Harold and Toni Brodhagen, Alma and Redge Davis, Gladys and Johnny Hereford, Fred and Daisy Brodhagen, Clayton Brodhagen, and brother-in-law Ross Smith.  She is survived by her brother Brian Brodhagen, and sisters-in-law Gloria Brodhagen, Maureen Smith and Jean Brodhagen.   Lovingly missed my all of her nieces and nephews.  Family and friends are invited to the funeral service on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, 202 Erie Street, Stratford at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer Society through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
