John Alvin St. Clair, age 84, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on March 10, 2016. He was born in Embro, son of the late Alvin and Mary (Wadland) St. Clair. Beloved husband for 63 years of Jean (Ische). Loving father of John Jr. and Brian (Alice). Grandfather of Greg (Stacey), Chris (Heather) and Brianne. Great grandfather of Ethan, Brinley and Alice Jane. Dear brother of Lois Irving and Bill St. Clair. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Esther Gettler, Alice Bested, Betty Ranton (Reg) and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by a sister Anna Alexander (Hilton), by brothers Robert (Darlene), George (Josephine) and by a brother-in-law Laverne Irving. John had worked at Kroehler Manufacturing for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed following his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sports. John was a member of Avondale United Church. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G.
