Douglas Hansen, of Stratford, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the age of 71. Born in Stratford, son of the late Martha (nee Wettlaufer) and Clarence Hansen. Beloved husband and best friend of Wendy Hansen (nee Davidson). Loving father of Rob (Heather) and Daryl (Christine). Cherished grandpa of Brayden, Liam, Cole, Kaira, Joshua and Kiley. Dear brother of Xen (Analyn) and Elaine Walters. Also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law; Jack Savile, Cindy Fortune (Randy), Rick Davidson (Diann), Jeff Davidson (Ruth) and Joe Davidson and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father and mother-in-law; Carl and Isabel Davidson and sisters Ruth Savile and Doreen Buckley.  Doug was a valued employee of Sealed Power Corp. for 18 years until its closure in 1980. He then served as a dedicated supervisor at Dura Automotive until his retirement in 2007. Doug loved spending quality time with his family and close friends. He had a gifted passion for woodworking in his special man cave. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Wednesday, March 30, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 202 Erie St., Stratford, on Thursday March 31, at 11 am with Pastor Jeff Laustsen officiating. A reception will be held at the church following the interment in Avondale Cemetery.
