Costanzo, Carmine

Carmine Costanzo of Stratford, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday April 9, 2016 at Stratford General Hospital, at the age of 81.   Born in Pedivigliano, Italy, son of the late Giovanni and Maria (Pascuzzi) Costanzo.   Beloved husband of Mirella Maria (Sacco) Costanzo of 56 years. Loving father to Maria and husband Mario Paola, Gabriella and husband Gino Pollastrone and Giovanni Costanzo and wife Shannon. Proud grandfather of Giovanni Paola, Alessandra and husband Marc LaFramboise, Massimo Paola, Claudio Paola, Sophia Pollastrone, Noah Pollastrone, Carmine Costanzo, Elizabeth Costanzo and Liam Johnston.  Great grandfather of Amelia LaFramboise. Carmine was a long time employee of FAG Bearings before his retirement and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.  Carmine will be remembered for his love of story-telling about his travels through Italy and his service as a sergeant in the army.  He had a profound love for great music and great wine.  His stories will be forever cherished in our hearts.  Carmine is survived by his sister Amelia Mirri and brother Adolfo and his wife Rita all of Italy. Besides his parents, Carmine was predeceased by a daughter Rosa Maria, a brother Salvatore and his wife Fernanda Costanzo and a brother-in-law Luigi Mirri.  Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday April 12, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (The Knights of Columbus will hold a service at 6:45 p.m.) Mass will take place on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford. Entombment to follow in Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association of the Arthritis Society of Canada through the funeral home.
