Stratford News Melting needed for Swan Parade to go ahead as planned SHARE ON: Patrick Grapes, staff Monday, Mar. 24th, 2014 The swans may stay cooped up longer than we thought. The big birds are slated to return to the Avon River on April 6th. There’s just one problem; the weather. The long harsh winter means the river is either still frozen or too cold for the swans. Temperatures are forecast to rise this weekend but it may not be enough. Environment Canada meteorologists say colder-than-normal temperatures will continue until mid-April.
