Organ donation program at SGH expands

An organ and tissue referral program has expanded at Stratford General Hospital.

The program, known as “Routine Notification”, requires staff to report every death or impending death, so that potential organ and tissue donors can be identified.

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance says starting today “Routine Notification” will now include all inpatient units.

Previously the program was only applied in the Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit.
