Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Nithview Community, New Hamburg. Erma was formerly of East Zorra Township and was born 94 years ago in Perth County. She was the daughter of the late Menno & Annie (Yantzi) Ropp.
Erma will be dearly missed by her husband of 71 years, Stanley Lichti. Loving mother of Elaine Baxter and husband Dave Booth of Stouffville, mother-in-law of Sharon Lichti and friend Harry Baechler of Tavistock. Predeceased by her son Wayne Lichti (1992). Erma will be missed by her grandchildren; Trevor, Fred & Dana, Sara, Jamie & Roxie, Rob & Maureen, Brad & Sally, Derek & Emily. She will be missed by her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her many brothers and sisters.
Erma is survived by her brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; Viola Ropp, Elroy Lichti & Loretta (predeceased), Lincoln & Maryann Lichti, Ken & Mildred Lichti, Mervin (predeceased) & Geneva Lichti, Elmon (predeceased) & Emmaline Lichti, Leona Bender & Mervin (predeceased).
Erma was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg and enjoyed quilting and embroidering as well as fishing and gardening. Her and Stanley enjoyed going to the trailer at Shelter Valley in Goderich.
Family and friends will be received at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, 1056 Huron Street, New Hamburg for a time of visiting on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A service will follow at the church at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Jan Steckley and Pastor Kevin Peters-Unrau officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Wilmot Family Resources or Nithview Community.
