Jean Gertrude Paul passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge on Thursday, June 16, 2016, in her 91st year. Born the daughter of the late Sanford Ward and the former Gertrude Wickie, Jean was predeceased by her husband Harold Paul in 1999, and her sons John Paul in 2006 and Bob Paul in 2012. Much loved mother of Sandy (Linda) Paul of Stratford, Alan Paul (Cindy McKay) of Stratford, Janice (Alistair) Paine of London, Kathy (Tom) Bjorkquist of Stratford, Susan (Dave) Carroll of Gadshill and mother-in-law of Susan Paul of Sherwood Park, Alberta. Jean is also survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Graham of Stratford and nephew John Doerr of Toronto. She will be fondly remembered by her ten grandchildren Jeffrey Paul, Michael Paul, Tracey Lobsinger, Dean Sharp, Andrea Wilson, Jonathan Paine, Christopher Bjorkquist, Ian Carroll, Katie Carroll and Leah Carroll, and eight great-grandchildren. Jean was a busy and active homemaker while caring for her seven children. She was a member of the former Central United Church, now Avondale United Church, and a Lifetime Member of the United Church Women. She was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and volunteered with the Stratford General Hospital Auxiliary for many years. Besides her parents, husband and sons, Jean was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Gilbert Ward, Jack Ward, Blanche Ruch and Dorothy Doerr, mother-in-law Beatrice Paul, brother-in-law Mic Graham and daughter-in-law Margaret Paul. At her prior request, cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will take place.
