Regan, Ethel

Ethel Ann Regan, in her 100th year, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2017 at People Care (Tavistock). Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Michael and Emma (De la Franier) Longeuay. Predeceased by her husband Gregory Regan (1994) after 54 years of marriage.   Survived by her children Barbara (James) La Flamme, Ronald (Chrisana) Regan, Lynda (David) Norwood, Colleen Bannerman and Rosemary Regan. Proud grandmother of Jerald La Flamme, Maryann La Flamme, Janet (Andre) Beneteau, Scott (Kristen) Regan, Shannon (Donald) Harris, Melanie Bannerman, Robert (Kristine) Bannerman along with her great grandchildren Meghan Hughes, Sydnée and Marc Beneteau, Samantha and Regan Harris, Nash and Clark Bannerman. Ethel was predeceased by her siblings; Jack and Angela Longeuay, Gertrude and Howard Cooper, Harold Longeuay, Leonard and Anna Longeuay, Clarence Longeuay, May and Anthony De Bosdari , Vincent and Georgina ( 1); Venettia (2) Longeuay and Jerrald and Judith (1); Shirley Longeway(2). Ethel was predeceased by the Regan in laws; Leo Regan, Mary Regan, Dorothy and Walter Bechler, Fergus and Catherine Regan, Theresa Regan, Jack and Beatrice (1); Marie(2) Regan and Dorothy (foster sister) and George Grubb  and four generations of nieces and nephews. Ethel was the last surviving member of the Longeuay and Regan generation. Her French ancestors arrived in Canada in the 1600s and her Irish ancestors in the 1800s. Friends and relatives will be received at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 5-8 p.m., and at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Interment to follow at Avondale Cemetery.
