Swan Parade a success

One of Stratford’s biggest quirks was a success again.

Thousands of people packed the area around the William Allman Arena and Lakeside Drive for the annual Swan Parade.

The big birds waddled their way back to the Avon River yesterday with plenty of local support.

Organizer Cathy Rehberg says the parade keeps getting bigger every year.

She says it is a quirky tradition yet it has very practical roots.

It was also the first Swan Parade without Ted Blowes.

Organizer Cathy Rehberg says his spirit is alive and well.

The Swan Parade was scheduled for the previous weekend but was delayed due to the cold.
