Randy Pettapiece wants the trains!
The Perth-Wellington MPP has written to the Wynne Government about extending the GO Transit system all the way to Stratford.
Pettapiece says that rural Ontario needs better transportation options especially as the federal government cuts back on VIA Rail in the region.
He echoed criticisms made by Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson about a proposed GO Train layover station in Baden.
Pettapiece says the infrastructure and community support for such a project already exists in Stratford.
He says it just makes more sense to bring the layover station and extend the trains all the way to the city.
