Watch out for Turtles

The turtle nesting season has begun in the Thames River Watershed.

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority says seven of Ontario’s eight turtle species are listed as at risk.

The most common species locally is the Midland Painted Turtle and its population is declining in some areas.

The U-T-C-R-A is asking everyone to watch for turtles crossing the road and do not disturb a nest if you find one.
