Harold Erb, age 86, of Stratford, passed away suddenly at his favourite summer place (The Last Resort), at the Riverside Park in Port Albert on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Born in Stratford on April 25, 1931. Harold had the Silver Lining Apple Orchard in Sebringville, with the first in the region, apple cold storage and pick your own. Founding member of Stratford Area World Aid. Due to health reasons, he retired and did volunteer work with the Cree Indians, Carib Indians, Amerindians, the Minnpeople and the Mayans. Harold got his love for Karaoke on cruise ships and enjoyed making friends. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Burki). Father of Gordon (Debbie) of Woodstock, Richard (Denise Whaley) of Mississauga, Eric (Jan) of Kamloops BC, Paul (Kevin) of Ottawa and John (Cindy) of London. Grandfather of Justin (Vivian), Susan and Jenny and James, Sarah and Aaron. Brother of Kay Berry of Woodstock. Survived by his nieces and nephews and predeceased by his sisters; Muriel Hoggarth, Audrey Stewart, Bessie Blair. Friends and relatives may gather at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, June 22, from 1 p.m., until the time of the memorial service in the chapel at 2 p.m. A private interment in Sebringville Cemetery will follow the reception at the funeral home.
