Randy Pettapiece is holding firm on his stance to keep long-term care bed local.
The Peth-Wellington M-P-P says any proposal to move bed out of the area should be rejected outright.
His comments come after a public meeting on the closure of Hillside Manor in Mitchell.
Over 200 people turned out to the daytime meeting at the Mitchell Community Centre on Tuesday.
There is a proposal to move up to 50 beds to London after the closure.
Pettepiece has launched a petition and already has over 3-thousand signatures.
