Ontario officials are taking steps to protect vulnerable elderly patients in long-term care homes.
The government announced it is launching an inquiry after Elizabeth Wettlaufer was sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing eight patients in four care homes.
Attorney General Yasir Naqvi says the hope is to prevent a tragedy like this from happening again.
Provincial officials will now be looking for a commissioner to lead the inquiry.
