Strong Currents and High Water Levels Spark Warning from Local Agencies

The Upper Thames Conservation Authority and Perth County Emergency Management have posted a water safety bulletin.

Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Colvin says the local watershed has taken on as much as 60 millimetres from extra rain and snowfall through the weekend, causing high water levels and strong currents in the area.

Colvin says neither agency is expecting flooding but river banks should be considered dangerous to children and pets.

UTRCA officials says the Pittock, Wildwood and Fanshwe reservoirs are being watched closely by flood control.
