First Cases of Influenza Recorded in Perth County

The Perth District Health Unit says there are confirmed cases of influenza in Perth County.

The health unit is asking you to schedule your flu shots to help protect yourself and others from its spread.

Flu season normally runs from November to April in Canada.

Right now there are less than five lab-confirmed cases recorded in Perth County.

You can schedule your flu shot through your family doctor or local pharmacy.

Those without family doctors can call the health unit.

Public Health Nurse Lorna Askes says make sure to wash your hands often, cough or sneeze into your sleeve and to stay home if you are sick to avoid spreading the flu to others.
