The Perth, Huron and Wellington County OPP say they have seen a spike of collisions this afternoon.

Perth County’s Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Colvin says the main problem the recent rains have created a layer of ice underneath snow covered roads.

The OPP says the main factor in many of the collisions has been speed.

Police are asking you to slow down and make sure you’re lights are on as poor visibility has been reported in many areas.
