Another annual tradition is gearing up for another season in Stratford.
This is the 18th season for Stratford Summer Music with the lineup announced earlier this week, the festival is spread over six weeks from July 16th to August 26th and there will be over 100 events and performances featuring 350 artists.
John Miller, the Artistic Producer for the festival, is retiring at the end of the season and he says this year’s festival is special for him and will make for an exciting season for the audience and for himself.
Stratford Summer Music General Manager Judy Matheson says there will be many highlights of the festival including the return of the Blind Boys of Alabama.
“This is John’s final season as Artistic Producer so he’s invited all of his favorites, well as many of his favorites as we could fit into six weeks, and the Blind Boys are going to be here on Monday July 30th at the Avondale Auditorium and they are absolutely wonderful.”
There will also be a tribute to Stompin’ Tom Connors and the Great Pianists Series.
