It might be a good idea to go treasure hunting over the weekend.

The City of Stratford is holding its Treasure Hunt beginning at 4:00 p.m. Friday and going until 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

It will feature people putting items that they want to get rid of, but that can still be used by others, by the curb in front of their homes where they will then be picked up for free.

Stratford’s Director of Infrastructure and Development Services Ed Dujlovic says the event sends an important message.

“When they talk about the three R’s you’ve got reduce, reuse, recycle,  so one of them is reuse and you’ve got items that could still be reused by someone.”

Any items that are still left by the curb by 3:00 p.m. Sunday must be removed by the owner.
