City of Stratford signs off on agreements with union locals for inside and most outside workers

A majority of the inside and outside unionized workers in Stratford are under now a new agreement.

Stratford City Council agreed on Monday to three-year collective agreements with the Canadian Union of Public Employees Locals 1385 and 197.

The agreements are effective from January 2018 through to the end of 2020 and have been ratified by both locals.

They say the terms of the renewed collective agreements will see employees receive an average annual wage increase of approximately 1.5 per cent.

There were also a number of changes made to existing collective agreements dealing with scheduling, clarification on promotions and transfers, other contract language and benefits.
