Roy Miller

Roy William Miller, age 93, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Anne Hathaway Retirement Residence on July 22, 2018. Born in Stratford, May 27, 1925, son of the late William and Bertha Miller.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Hewitt) who predeceased him June 10, 2010. Loving father of Bill (Jocelyn), Bob (Brenda), Bonnie Castleman and Heather Vanderploeg. Grandfather of Sara Macmillan (Tim), Brad Miller (Anne), Lisa Mills (Jonathan), Blaine Miller (Kara), Christopher Vanderploeg (Carly) and Elissa Cooper (Sean) and 12 great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of his generation, predeceased by his daughter-in-law Carol Lovell and a son-in-law John Castleman.

Roy worked with the Perth County Board of Education as a custodian in various schools until his retirement. He was a member of Avondale United Church, Stratford.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Weir, Dr. Andrew Hussey, Lindsay Pletsch-Parr and all the staff of Anne Hathaway Retirement Residence over the past 8 years for the care and compassion they gave Roy.

Friends and relatives are invited to Avondale United Church, 194 Avondale Avenue, Stratford on Tuesday, July 24, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. Keith Reynolds will officiate. A reception and time for visitation will follow the service. A family Interment will be held at Harrington Presbyterian Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Avondale United Church through the W.G.
