Staff at the Canadian Tire in Stratford are being credited with helping to save a victim from fraud.
Police say a customer attempted to purchase $5 thousand worth of gift cards from the store Thursday when an attentive employee contacted police.
They learned that the victim was directed by telephone to go to the store and purchase gift cards or be arrested.
Stratford Police remind you that any request over the phone for money is most likely a scam and you should contact police right away.
Business owners are reminded that anyone purchasing over $100 in gift cards should be questioned regarding the reason for the purchase and if concerns arise police should be contacted.
