It’s expected to be business as usual at Bruce Power for the next ten years.
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has awarded the power plant, on the shore of Lake Huron, a 10-year renewal of its Power Reactor Operating License.
That means the plant can keep its eight units running through 2028.
The renewal was granted following a lengthy public consultation.
